Our client an Australian owned Freight Forwarding company based in Tullamarine. Due to recent growth, they are seeking an experienced Sea Freight Import Operator on a full time basis. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team to assist with the daily import operations. This role requires a self motivated candidate looking for a long term career with a leading forwarder in Melbourne.

 

The Role

 

  • Import Sea freight Job registrations
  • Liaising with overseas agents
  • Coordination of Import FCL/LCL shipments
  • Monitor arrivals and coordinate cartage
  • Arrange customs clearance
  • Liaise with warehouse / transport operations and AQIS
  • Ensuring compliance with Australian Customs
  • Handle jobs from the start through to delivery
  • Job costing and invoicing
  • Import cartage coordination

 

Skills / Experience

 

  • 3 Years experience in Import Sea-freight (Essential)
  • Good working knowledge of Sea-freight operations 
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Strong work ethic  
  • Proactive attitude and the ability to work well in a team
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good analytical and decision making skills
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Logistics Diploma (Preferred)
  • Ability to work autonomously
